I am happy to report the printing is now complete. I handed off the folios for sewing and binding yesterday afternoon. The leather finally arrived, after the first two batches were re-done due to problems with the dyes and the company’s drum. The spine pieces will be cut and sent to Peter in Massachusetts for gilding, while the text block is assembled and sewn in the coming weeks by Celine, up in Maine.
I ran my Vandercook Uni III press over 10,000 times on this edition, through press problems, roller issues, paper delays, and leather delays. The colors and images look beautiful and I cannot wait to receive the first Artist’s Proof book.
