This week Fran was in New York City visiting with relatives from Brazil.  She was curious about letterpress and of course, loves letterpress stationery, so she learned how to do it herself!

With instruction by Mindy Belloff, Fran printed a personalized note card and her favorite quote using a pretty purple ink.  She set type in Lydian and Bodoni, real metal fonts!

On Friday & Saturday Pam & Michelle visited Intima Press from Florida to learn letterpress printing!  We had a great few days and they got to enjoy all that New York City has to offer.  Mindy Belloff went over every aspect of what they need to start up their letterpress stationery and wedding invitation business – setting type, digital files, press, studio equipment, etc. – and all for an investment …

We went to press with Aram’s business cards.  He had a difficult time making a decision on one single design, so we helped him out and printed all 4 of them!  We used a heavy weight Crane’s bright white paper, printed in a blue-grey and a lighter grey ink that Mindy Belloff custom mixed to his specs and they look spectacular!

In Letterpress Fundamentals class this weekend, Ali, Sonia, McColl & Rebecca leaned how to set type and print on the Uni III at Studio on the Square.

Rebecca celebrated her birthday at the Studio, learning this awesome art form for the day and taking some Me time from the Mommy time!  Everyone created their own personal note cards, a favorite quote, and

I went to press Saturday, July 10th on John Hancock’s signature.  I decided to print it in a light inky blue.  It looks awesome on the bright white cotton paper next to the deep black printed text.  The colophon reads:
